I believe that if Churches WERE reaching out more, we'd also be more active in lobbying for better services. They would rather live alone under a bridge. I think a church environment might be able to "bridge" that gap better than social workers. Churches are involved here in Denver trying to help. But the problem is way too much for a church or churches. It needs a commitment from the citizenry and the government.
